Marinka Brecelj harpsichord and conduct

was born in Bozen, Italy where she studied piano at the Conservatory in Bozen. In 1982, after obtaining her diploma, she studied harpsichord, piano and conducting at the conservatories in Vienna and Milan.

In 1994 she took first class honours for her Doctor’s degree at the University of Bologna, for her theses work on modern harpsichord music. This was followed by master classes with Ton Koopmann and Bob van Asperen and many concerts in Europe, Mexico and the United States appearing in numerous concert series, venues and music festivals. In 1989 her first CD was released. Her repertoire covers works ranging from the baroque to the contemporary, (some of which were composed and dedicated to her).
